FRAMING
IDEA
So…you purchased a print, what now? What size frame should you get? My prints are offered in two sizes: 40x50cm (16×20”) and 60x80cm (24×32”). Each of these sizes allows you for two ways of framing. Let’s say you purchased a 60x80cm (24×32”) print.
Option 1: You can purchase a frame in the size of the print. This will have a more “poster” look. The print itself has a 1 inch border which will visually separate the artwork from the frame. This is shown below on the left.
Option 2: You can purchase a bigger frame e.g. a 70x100cm (28×40”) with a mat (passe-partout). The mat opening should be in the size of the print itself, in this case 60x80cm (24×32”). This will elegantly highlight the print and give it more depth, as shown below on the right.
